about us

About Oran Care

Oran Care is an award winning family owned and operated care agency providing care at home in Fife and Midlothian. We're committed to raising the standard of care. We believe that everyone deserves to grow older with dignity and respect.

We are proud of our care service. We understand your home is where you feel the most comfortable and the happiest. It is the place you know the best.

If you want to stay living comfortably at home, we can help you make that choice an informed one. We believe that living at home independently should be a positive choice and can be done well with good care and support.

I am in Cupar in Fife and the carers are excellent. I have care twice a day and we cannot praise them enough. Thank you Oran Carers you are the best. Highly recommend.

1. Person Centred Care

Person centred care puts you at the heart of our service. We value every person as an individual. We treat every individual with compassion, care and dignity. We listen more and care more about your individual needs, personal preferences and choices. We put you in control, helping you to make a positive choice to stay in your own home. We believe Oran’s person-centred care can enrich your life with meaning and purpose.

2. Relationship Focused

At Oran Care we believe that at the heart of a quality care service is positive, fulfilling relationships. Of course, the single most important relationship is with you our client and this principle extends to your family and carer. We believe that promoting strong, solution focused relationships where everybody is valued and respected is one our organisations strongest assets.

3. Recruitment and Retention of High Quality Staff

It is no secret that there are serious recruitment problems in the care sector. An over burdened industry with a shortage of staff face new challenges in our ever-changing political climate.

That is why we value the staff who join us. Simply put, our private care staff are some of the highest paid, best trained and most experienced in Scotland.

It is also why when we find good staff members we make sure they feel valued. High standards of training, counselling and regular team meetings are some of the benefits of being an Oran private carer. We require all our carers to have, or work towards, a qualification in Health and Social Care. In fact, we value qualifications so much that we are now accredited by SQA to deliver S.V.Q. Level 2 and 3 in Health and Social Care to all our staff.

Specialists in Privately Delivered Homecare

Oran Care is a small family-run care company. Set up in 2010, we strive to find new ways to raise the standards of care. From the beginning, we have believed that by caring about the quality of our service we could support older people to live independently with dignity and respect in the comfort of their own homes.

We take pride in making sure we only recruit the highest quality of staff for our private care services and make the ethos of continuous improvement at the heart of what we do. Predominantly based in Fife and the Lothians, our main offices are located in Kirkcaldy and Loanhead where we have dedicated care and training teams.

Consistency

At Oran, we understand that the quality of relationship between a carer and their client is key to success in care. That’s why we emphasise the importance of having your own key worker that you can become familiar with. It’s important to us that you know and like the person who looks after you; after all that’s how we build lasting relationships. We can’t stress highly enough the benefits that consistent and robust care arrangements bring to the whole family.

A care package must be built with solid foundations for it to be successful longer term, so we always provide introductions between you and your carers. Asking for your feedback and making any changes if required before a package of care starts is essential.

Dedicated Point of Contact

Private care provides people with choice and control about the care that they receive. Oran Care provides high-quality care for self-funding clients throughout Fife and the Lothians. Hourly care is a starting point but as your needs change your dedicated Care Manager can work with you to develop your care package, making sure it is appropriate for your situation.
